Microfinance

Started in 2024 with support from GIZ, CFS Microfinance was established as a social enterprise to respond to the growing credit needs of members within our Group Saving Program (GSP). Our mission is to promote financial inclusion among women and girls in peri-urban and rural communities by providing accessible, affordable and flexible credit services tailored to their needs.

What We Offer

Registered as a non-deposit taking entity with Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority (UMRA), we currently provide three loan products to meet the diverse needs of our client;

  1. Group Loans: Empowering members GSP without individual collateral to access collective credit where members are jointly responsible for each other’s loan. Through a peer monitoring approach, members ensure their peers utilize the funds responsibly and make timely repayments to avoid collective penalties.
  2. Personal Loans: Catering for clients with individual collateral, these loans have flexible payments and are majorly taken for business growth and expansion.
  3. Emergency loans: Provided to clients during times of unexpected financial shocks and emergencies, these loans are provided to well-known clients with a good credit history of repayment.
  4.

Who we Server

Our primary clients are members of GSP, with whom we have built strong, trusting relationships. Beyond credit, we actively promote financial literacy to help clients make informed decisions and strengthen their long-term financial resilience.

Our Approach

Flexible repayment terms: We adapt repayment schedules to match clients’ sources of income.

Client-centered support: Our dedicated team works hand-in-hand with clients to understand their unique financial needs.
